Hi I am designing a small goldfih pond in my garden. Size is .09 mtr wide x .09 mtr deep x 2.5mtr long as the available space dictates. Can I build the wall above ground in single skin brickwork which will be 4 courses high.

you are saying just brick and thinking that will not be strong enough .The pressure of the water will push it out ..

Welcome to GPF Dennis. I agree that the forces of the water will probably push on the bricks too much and would crack the mortar unless you did something like a concrete footing and stuck rebar down through the bricks into the concrete or used a really heavy brick like a harvard brick. It probably would make more sense to berm up the soil around the edge of the pond and then maybe you can add the bricks around it for accent. Since the average brick is about 3 inches high it sounds like the .09 meters you mentioned doesn't make sense because your pond would be 3 inches wide and 3 inches deep and 12 inches high with the 4 courses above grade.
