As we all get eggs in our ponds we all wonder what the heck! is it?

So I thought it would be neat to have one thread so we could all follow along as eggs appeared.

I just found these in my lotus pond, no filtration, just some rosie reds to control bugs.............no clue what they came from ......yet

Threads of eggs draped over the lotus pots, tons of them

lol koiguy they are in my lotus tank, just rosey reds and one gold fish that I have not seen for almost 9 months! I had put three goldfish in, 3 rose reds. I thought the heron got all of the gold fish. Now have one goldfish, so far, and around 15 rosey reds.

So unless the roseys eat eggs, or that one gold fish is a pig, they will do fine.

Toads they are..........

I encourage the toads, they eat those nasty black crickets we have everywhere. I noticed a lot fewer of the crickets and flies and bugs in general, since we built the pond.

I love the Toad pictures Addy. They look so comfortable on the branches. I am thinking of putting in a small Lotus tank/barrel. We have some old cow watering barrels that I could dig a hole and drop it in. Would love to have more room for more critters.

They are cute! lol. I put in more branches, only had one, they were fighting over it. At last count had 6 toads in the pond having fun! I still need to finish that pond, don't like the gray edge showing. It is on my list.

I read on a koi sight that some toads will hug a fish to death .I don't remember why they said they do it ,I think it had something to do with mating .They get confused maybe .Anyone hear this or know of this as i can't remember what sight spoke about this .

so far they have only been hugging each other. There is only one goldfish in that pond and some rosey reds.
