Hello,
I’m new here, my dad has had his pond for over 20 years and it’s his pride and joy, especially the carp that has he passed down through 3 generations. But in the last few months the water has gone green. The pond now has two UV filters running and I brought a pond hoover to try and help but nothing seems to be working. My dad is currently in Australia and I would like to try and get it sorted for him. I would be really grateful for some advice and will attach pictures of the pond and filters.

Welcome to our group!

I don't see any plants, they help with removing excess nutrients. Also how much are they being fed? Usually green water is caused by too much food, excess nutrients. It won't harm the fish.

Yep agree, large fish load and or over feeding. Remember, the fish keep growing and reproducing which increases the fish load. Fish poop= excess nutrients which feed the algae. Algae bloom causes green water. Plants feed on the nutrients which starves the algae.
Add plants...lots of them.

@Alice martin

I agree plants will suck up the extra nutrients and I hardly ever feed my fish as they can find bug, worms etc. that fall into the pond or fly over it. They nibble on algae and plants also. They love Duckweed which you can dole out to them once in awhile.
