Yes Im finally retired and anxious to start my new project. Have just purchased an old rowboat, fiberglass, and want to create a small fishpond. Im not sure what to paint the inside with that wont be toxic to the goldfish i want to put in.
I will have many more questions however first things first.

Can you just strip it down to fiberglass, clean well, then I would think there would be no need to paint the inside.

@Finally retired
Any paint would not show up much after awhile anyways due to carpet algae turning everything green. The short algae is a good thing so we leave it to grow on our liners. Fish love to nibble on it too.
