Yes rocks rock! They are even better when they are in place and don’t need to be moved. Our build took a few years and it seemed we were continuously moving piles of rocks.
been there done that and it never ends .You change this you change that and you add on .I sometimes wonder why i do it until I sit down and enjoy the pond and forget all the work .
they really like the fresh drink and they have a yellow tip on there tail.Bathing waterfall .How do you tell the males from the females they all look the same there .You sure get alot of them .Don't look up .
Wow, that is one bird I don’t know how to tell the males from the females. I know some of them have a bit of red on the tails, but I don’t believe this has anything to do with the sex. They get a bit of red if they eat a type of berry, and I can’t remember right now what berry that is.
Ponding sure is a magnet for nature!
Those are very pretty and busy little birds. Really enjoyed watching them bathe and flit around in the water. I don't think I've ever seen them around here either.Found this on the Cedar Waxwing. Guess it can be found here in Washington but isn't seen much on our western side of the Cascade mountains. http://www.birdweb.org/birdweb/bird/cedar_waxwing
