Hello!

I'm a first-time pond owner (a couple months now). ~1800 gallon pond. High desert area of Southern CA. Did it all myself. I have to say, I really like this forum. I've been looking around for something like this since I started. And, I'm loving the ponding too. It's great to have a living ecosystem in your back yard. My only issue is that my waterfall is slightly on the loud side and the sound reverberates pretty good in our patio area. I may siphon or redirect some of the waterfall flow through a protein skimmer. Not much else I can do without some reconstruction or purchasing a smaller pump. I believe the skimmer will be good for the pond in the long run anyway.

Pictures below. Construction not 100% complete in the daytime pics, but you get the idea.

welcome and yep inclosed in that concrete block I guess it would be louder .You could redirect some of the water into the pond itself .I have a hose on the bottom of my pond and a hose on the top of the pond just allowing water to come out into the pond .Helps keep it cleaner

@DrCase. Yes, some common goldfish and a dragon tail goldfish. I wasn't sure how the dragontail would do, but he's been ok so far. Going to drop some Comets in next. I've been adding them slowly.
