Hi folks and thanks for having me.
We are in the process of converting a large (150 000 litre!) concrete swimming pool into a pond and would love to hear from anyone who has done the same. Would also love some advice about deep water plants and coping with the lack of planting shelves.

We are 7 months into the process and so far we have 10 koi, 15 goldfish, 10 silver perch and 10 pygmy perch that are all thriving however the plants we have put in have not done well.
We are just coming out of winter (mild compared to northern hemisphere standard) so am hoping that spring will see a flourish of activity! Being a pool the shallow end is 4ft deep and the deep end is around 9ft so most of our plants are floating or on the steps.
Like I said, I'd love to here from anyone who had done something similar or has some advice or words of wisdom.

Thanks again.
J

Hi there and welcome, have you tried to add some concrete piers to create a shelf? they are readily available here in the states. That's what I use to raise a fountain pump above the water level
