My Name is Levi and I live in Saskatoon Saskatchewan. I maintain and work on a large aerated pond on our family farm near Cold lake, Alberta.
About our pond; it was made by our local Municipality in 2014 when they needed fill to widen and raise the highway nearby. Its very large but filled with run off by 2016. Our Pond is 90 m x 45 m x 9 m. It is currently aerated with 3 diffusers on a Can Air-3 aerator. It was stocked spring 2018 with 100 rainbow trout, 100 brown trout and 100 brook trout. The fingerlings were 12-20 cm when stocked. I have transplanted yellow lily, bull rush, and bog arum into the pond. Issues I am currently trying to reduce the effects of are algae blooms in august and the new resident or residents being mink =( I have found 4 different dens.
In the future I am hoping to build floating island, spawning bed and landscape around the pond. I am looking forward to learning and sharing photos with others.
