Spring is coming after a very long, cold snowy winter. I've been "koi ponding" for 10 years. However, every spring my pond struggles. I am hopeful to learn some tips on how I can make it a smoother transition from winter to spring this year.

Hi lamak, Welcome! What do you usually do to the pond as Spring approaches? Do you do any cleaning and when do you start feeding the fish?

Hi everyone,
I will post pictures as soon as I return home from business. I usually clean out anything from the bottom of my pond that fell in after my fall clean up. Then I add some of the bio starters some of the pond supply places sell.

I learned something new that if you add fresh organic garlic to the spring and fall food that it will help the koi 's immune system and help them feed better and adjust to the weather changes not sure but it came from a koi specialist .Wondering what thoughts everyone has about this .
