Just joined the forum and this is my intro post. No pond at the moment unless you count the Rubbermaid tub serving as a temporary learning environment. It has a few hardy water lilies, one enormous shubunkin (his pondmates provided sustenance to the herons), and a tropical water lily. Eventually plan to use it as a skippy filter, but for now its my learning environment. Made a miniature skippy filter from a cat litter container and use it to filter and feed water to the tub. Useful for seeing what works best in keeping the water clear without chemical or physical filtration mechanisms. So far this year its going pretty well. But had to cover the tub with plexiglass cause the herons are hanging around the house again. Hope to put in the real thing this summer after the new patio hardscaping goes in.
