Hello,

I have decided to sign up after doing a ton of research in hopes of getting some advice. I'll post a complete thread in the appropriate section when I've had some time to organize my thoughts and gather some pictures of my disaster.

I live on a small farm in the okanagan valley. We have a very neglected silt filled garden pond that was kind of nice when we bought our place 13 years ago. So yes I have been party to the neglect. Now finally reaching a point in time where we are going to revamp the pond/garden area. I have some unique challenges I'm facing. lol. Pond wise I mean. I have a natural water flow that originates and terminates on my property and feeds the current "pond".

Anyways I look forward to reading more and participating here.

Cheers, Justin

Hello neighbor, I am in the Shuswap. I'm just starting my second summer with a small stock tank pond and the forum members here have helped me out a lot. Good luck with your project!

Welcome and same thing my dad had on our 7 acre city farm . A natural spring fed the pond , but only after dad and I built the pond and put fish in it . I hope you can clean it up and I hope to see pics of it .

An Artesian well can make ponding much easier if the levels are close to being where we need them the natural minerals in the water can be a huge benefit.

So bring on the photos ,
Welcome to the group

I do know my dad would test his natural spring once a month . It was lime stone water and it was always good and tested great . Our well was about 50 ft from it . Test yours and et us know how it tests . I know my day got his test kits free from the county and i get my test kits free from the county also . They give you a fast test and one you can drop off so they can test it even better . I get an e-mail test results report . All free . See if they offer it where you live
