Hello all

We built a pond in the garden this summer. Its 2000lt with 7 goldfish, 3 green tench, a baby koi and a few plants and they all seem to be doing well.

Now we need to know how how to look after them all as winter approaches.

Regards

Sally

welcome and hope you can post pics to help us help you or at least describe how you are filtering it .That must have been a lot of work and you don't want to loose it now .We need to know how deep it is also and what your temps get down too .Is it above ground or below ground cement or liner .

Thanks for the warm welcome!

The pond is kept clean with a home made filter. A 3000lph pump in the deep end of the pond, 4 foot down, pumps up to a 50lt filter box via an 18W UV clarifier. The box is divided into chambers holding brushes, jap matting, fine wool and flocor tubes. Then gravity feeds the water back to the pond through 3 x 1 1/4" pipes, one to a cascade, one straight to the pond and the third also to the pond but this one will go through a veggi filter...... one day! The pond has a 2 foot high wall round it and dug another 2 food down at one end.

I joined up here because you have a Winterizing your pond section which is just what we are looking for. We'll have a good read and then post some questions if it doesn't make sense!

Thanks
