Hi all,

I came across this very informative forum, while doing research for my first pond project. I have kept fish for over 20 years in aquariums, and now have a chance to move onto a fishpond.

I live in Northumberland in the Uk, and my other intrests are fishing and photography. I will be adding photos of my build as it progresses,

Cheers Rory.

welcome superdaft and isn't funny that a lot who start out inside with fish get so addicted they have to move there hobby outside .I just saw on diy .com a huge outside fish tank down in Florida .The guy started inside and then came up with the idea to run his tank from inside to outside .Knocked out a whole wall to do it and it is 10 feet deep and at a cost of 80 thousand dollars at this point he said and he is not finished .Gosh what a hobby

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone,

We have more in common Whiskey, as I am also a Joiner, and I must say that your water wheel is very impressive, and has given me inspiration to have a go myself ( should maybe finish the pond first tho  )

Cheers Rory

This year has mostly been coarse fishing, it's not great up here, but I travel down into yorkshire for the better fishing on the Swale, as the year goes on, i'll revert back to the salmon fishing as the rivers got some water in now.

The last few years I was fly fishing for stillwater trout, and did some competitions, but it's not as relaxing as watching a waggler on summer's night, fishing for tinkers.

Next year we are planning a trip down south for some of them monster carp. In a few years I hope to have a 3 acre lake stocked of my own, which would be nice:lol:
