Hallo,
Success story
I Bought a ¾ inch koi (nothing expensive) last year, 2013, right after watching a youtube video.
I did what the guy in California in the video said.
I could not believe it, if I wouldn’t have experienced it myself.
By November last year the koi had outgrown my other two and three year old kois.
It had grown to 14 inches in one summer.

No problem in allowing you to post the video. Andrew is known throughout the Koi community for growing really large NIce looking koi. Not just big but healthy big. Many people try and grow Koi fast and they end up with over weight footballs.

Guess I am lucky I did not end up with footballs.
Thanks.

14" in a single season is a good growth rate. But still a long shot from what is considered a true jumbo. I've quite often grown koi from fry to 12"-14" in a single year. second year reaching sizes of 18-20" But then that's where I have the problem. I have yet to raise one over 24". Been keeping Koi 20+ years, have a large pond with lots of filtration and I keep my water in excellent condition. I feed better than average koi food and still I can't seem to break that 24" mark. Recently I acquired two Koi, one 32" and one 29" Since I starting caring for them I now see that raising large koi is quite different than small koi. They simply don't eat the same way. Large koi are picky suckers! Once they find something they want. they seem to gorge themselves then they go through stages of they eat then they don't.
I love the look of your yellow and white Koi. I can't Identify what you would call it, but it really is a quite unusual and very pretty koi.

Thank you very much.
Since I have had problems over the years with Koi being eaten by everything I did not go out to buy anything expensive.
None of these Koi cost more than $15. I just bought what I liked in color variation.
As a result I do not know what kind of Koi they are (and I don't really care) I like their colors.
