Really it's not that big a of deal and I kind of expected it. LOL

The new bog with accompanying tiny pond has turned pea soup green :)

After putting all the plants in I was afraid they were getting zero nutrients from the clean brand new environment with no fish. So I starting shoving lily fertilizer tabs into the gravel around all the plants.

I knew when I did it that fertilizer can cause an algae bloom, especially with plants that are not established enough yet to consume the nutrients. So the water turned green.

Plants are doing great though, especially the hyacinths which always failed in my big pond.

As far as the green water, I will just patiently wait, knowing once established it should be fine.

And now we wait...

HOW LONG IS THIS GOING TO TAKE!!!!

Well that was a quick clear up!

I had a similar thing happen to me when I fertilized my plants in my old pond. I did lot's of water changes and with that along with the plants growing it did clear up although it took a little longer than yours did.

It is going to be clean and you should wait for 1-2 weeks.
But if it doesnot clear after 1-2 weeks, you need to take proper action to overcome the green water problem.

It's all clear today. No water changes just topped it off. Not planning on putting much effort into this one since there is no fish. Just let it do it's thing. The bog is about 10' x 8' and the attached little pond is only 4' x 3' about so a ton of bog and very little pond. The plants have really taken off.
