My water finally turned a greenish brown. I wondered how long it would take. Now that it has happened, what is a reasonable amount of time when I might see some improvement. I am patient. When I am home, I am running quilt batting in the skimmer. It is amazing how much junk it collects.

I am running bio-balls in the falls and do have a fair amount of plants in the pond. (I could use some more.) I do have a rocked in shelf but the rest of the pond is "naked." I have 6 SMALL goldfish and don't think I will get any more. This is a small pond and it gets LOTS of sun.

I had the water tested on Sunday and everything looked good. I don't have a water test kit but it is on my list of things to get. (I have been hitting the pocket book pretty hard.)

Just a thank you all who have offered suggestions. This is my first attempt at a pond. I will make mistakes but that is how I learn.

Rich

No way to tell. Could stay green forever, could be clear tomorrow. Only with UV or chemicals can timing be predicted.
