We have four trash cans 3/4 full of gravel - construction grade, mostly. We swapped out the stone in our rain exchange basin because I wanted prettier rocks - I know! But it looks much better now!
Anyway - we're in the far north suburban Chicago area, so if you live in the area and need gravel for a bog this would be great! Not pretty, but it works great! And best of all, it's free!
