It does look like it should weigh more than 30 lbs

Yeah, it really does look heavier than that. And the position of his one hand seems a little funny. I can see how people think it's faked, but a koi that size is believable.

Sure, the size could be reachede, but that picture is so obviously faked. The weight of that fish, even if only thirty pounds, would cause an indention in the fish body from the fellow's hand, and he wouldn't be able to hold it away from his body like that without showing some exertion. The worst, though, is the way the fish is posing motionlessly.
