There is a trail on the road to Yon Ten. A short distance through the jungle is a cenote..

You can see the minnows and larger fish, it is clear as it can be...

Neat now how deep is it and can you find a spot you can go diving into it?

The pool is about 15 feet deep, the water flows out from under a ledge leading to the caves.I won't dive this one, as it is well known, I want to find one that is yet undiscovered (by modern man.)

We want to see that one when you find it! How exciting will that be........but how will you be able to tell if someone like you didn't come along first and take a dive in it? Are they marked somehow on a map when they are discovered and will you let it be known if you find one to the people who keep track of the new ones that are found..............or how is it done?

They are mapped. A lot of them are on private land belonging to a simple family. They open a gate (a strand of barbed wire) and let people dive it for a few pesos. There is a lot of jungle here, Google Earth is useless because the growth is so thick, but if a person has the time and patience to just explore (hack with a machete) many have not been "discovered". As JW said, these places were revered by the Mayans. They threw offerings into the cenote to please the gods, statues, jade and gold also.

Hope you find one that has never been found before and be careful..............It's a jungle out there!
What if you find one that has the offerings in there? Do you leave them alone and just photograph only otherwise you become cursed or what? Or if you are found w/ the goods the gov't will get you? Or is it free for the taking, like pirate treasure?

Yes I am a pirate, two hundred years too late
The cannons don't thunder, there's nothin to plunder
Im an over-forty victim of fate
Arriving too late, arriving too late

Ive done a bit of smugglin, Ive run my share of grass
I made enough money to buy miami, but I pissed it away so fast
Never meant to last, never meant to last

Love that one and I think it's time you built yourself a ship so you can sail the sea. You built them inside bottles now is it time for the real thing?
You could build a 2 person one................oh or just take a kayak
