jbexplorer suggested a section with how to do videos done by members. Like the DIY section but just videos allowed.

There is a lot of knowledge here. Anybody that wanted to make a video of a project, skippy, pond netting etc.

Yes, and it could be more broad than the DIY section. The DIY section is good for learning or teaching about how to make filters and other homemade things, whereas How-To videos could be anything from homemade filters to the best way of planting water lilies or other pond plants. Members could post videos of how they created their bogs or what plants they planted around their ponds, what type of fish they have and what size ponds are good for certain types of fish, ways to winterize, etc. They could be as basic as how much to feed fish or share tips and tricks that keep their pond healthy. It would be a good way for people to explain what they did, why they did it, and how it turned out, and could go a little more in depth than a text post would generally be.

That sounds like a great idea. Sometimes it helps to have a visual. Particularly when your a newbie like me. :)

It is something Becky or Ian has to create. Maybe right below the DIY section

I like this idea - excellent suggestion @JBtheExplorer (y)

We would have to be quite strict about the type of videos that are included - I think it should be purely just tutorials or 'how to' videos. General videos about what people have done with their pond are more suited to the showcase section I think. However videos giving advice on a particular thing - for example, this is a problem I encountered and here is how to deal with it - would be very useful.

I would also be happy for people to share videos that they have found useful which they haven't necessarily made themselves.

How does this sound to everyone?

We could watch what is posted and tell the poster we are moving the video if it does not belong in the how to video section.

Think it is a great idea jbtheexplorer had!

As we already had a section for articles, we have changed the description to allow videos too. It seemed to make more sense to use an existing under-used section rather than create a new one! I have cleared out topics which should have been in the other forum sections, and posted a sticky for guidance. Let me know if you have any questions!
