That's interesting!check your water pH; it may be it's on the acidic side. Some flowers turn pink if in an acid environment and blue if a basic one. But yeah, they do great in my pond!
some yes, some no; most don't like their roots always in the water and yet, I've grown many cuttings this way. So, depends. Try it and watch to see if it thrives or starts to struggle (then take it out). And most will need some way to keep their crown above the water, so you can use a netting of some sort with a float ring around it. Or you can wedge it between rocks to help it remain upright.Can I plant a terrestrially grown plant directly in the water?
So mind are dying now. What am I doing wrong They grow like wild fire here. They love being at the edge of the current.

Mine are in full sun and do great. The biggest problem is the other plants can overwhelm it.They like moisture not huge fans of fulll soon on hot days they prefer light. Shade and cooler
