Just a bit of advice, I have mixed fish pond around 18000 ltrs, with both goldfish and koi. The koi are still young between 12 -30cm in size and keen for them to grow.

Here in the UK Koi food is generally very is expensive, so I was looking at bulk options and found Aller Aqua site in the uk.

They have lots of different fish food mainly aimed at fish farms, the Aller aqua Bona Float, it has a high 42% Protein growth food for Koi Aller Aqua Bona Float, 4.5mm, 20kg - Buy in Bulk and Save £££s - SW Bulk Fish Feed Supplies

This is also looks interesting and may be better suited for goldfish. Orea Float https://bulkfishpellets.co.uk/collec...39513732120776

The food cost is a fraction of the specialist koi shop offerings. I don't intend to show fish or grow competition koi, i just would like the koi to grow a bit and sit and enjoy the pond and fish

What are your thoughts on this food, none, one or both?

42 percent protein is good . But two things have recently changed in my idea to feeding.
I used to feed floating exclusively and large pellets.

Well after having used small pellet and 50% sink 50% floating. I now love them both and switching to more of this combination.
The small for me being able to feed a little more in number and not have it end up being undigested and pushed out like would large pelets.
And two in a rock bottom pond , they will move mountains and stir up the bottom to get to a morsel of food. And if one fish gives up the bigger fish will work it free.

Thanks for the advice. The pond have bottom drains, so food could just sink and go straight to the filter.

I will go for a mix of sizes, but will the higher protein feed be okay for the gold fish?

While on topic of goldfish I did try a couple fan tails. They are either realy realy dumb or they have zero power to get away from even a weak current as they always went over the negative edge. Koi do it once and learn fantail goldfish do it over and over again.
