I purchased new fish a few days ago and everytime i feed them (once a day) it doesnt appear they eat it, everytime i go to see they do not move or eat any of it, is it just a case of them still getting used to new surroundings?

Make sure your water parameters are good to avoid additional stress on the fish. Then it will take a couple of days for them to come around and start to feed.
hi can you explain water parameters please, also does it make a difference in the which type of food, i am using small tetra colour sticks, im afraid if they dont start eating they will die

Give them time and space.
Get a test kit and test your water. The results of the tests should be :
Ammonia 0 ppm
Nitrate below 80 ppm not to exceed 200 ppm maximum
Nitrite 0 ppm not to exceed 3 ppm maximum
Hardness about 100 ppm - 50 ppm min./150 ppm max.
pH 7.2-7.6 - 6.5 min./8.2 max.
