Fish ID please

I got him for my birthday from the wife. He is all blue no other colors at all and the blue has gotten a little lighter so now its more of a stormy sky blue so we named her storm. This photo is when we first got him June 1st at 6-7 in now he is 10-11 in and very friendly. I have been looking for a classification for him but haven't found one yet closest I can get is ochiba but he dosent have the other markings that come along with the ochiba. Either way I like her just curious.

Looks like some type of asagi. What does her belly look like?

No its not an asagi, I have 2 of them so I know what they look like. Her whole body is that same color. Not one scale is a diff color. I have never seen a solid blue koi that's why I got her. The dealer had 3-4 of them but she had the best (matsuba ?) netting look. He also had a couple full grown ones in his personal/breeding pond.

Thank you :cheerful:. As it has gotten bigger over the past almost 3 month it has become one of my friendlier fish. I had to repair a patch in the liner this weekend drained a foot off the pond to expose the leak and that had most of the fish skittish. Then I step into the pond and start repairing the leak the other fish calmed down and started to swim around and investigate but I look over to my side and storm is there like a puppy. The other fish came and went but she stayed there let me pet her and was my work partner the whole time I was in the pond lol.

Soragoi Koi, Known for their large size and friendly personality. Great confirmation on that one and the reticulation pattern is only going to keep getting better as it grows. this one should give you many many years of enjoyment. Actually one of the better quality koi I have viewed on this forum in a while.

Thank you. That's her I did google search and she deff matches up. And it all makes sense now she is putting on size faster than my other fish. My other koi where first purchased beginning of spring and they have all grown about 1/3 bigger 3-4 in on average some more but the Soragoi (thanks for the name) has almost doubled in a little under 3 months. Thanks for putting and end to the mystery. Now off to google to get my learn on.
