First use of pressurised filter.

It says in the instructions to let the filter fill with water from the pump before switching on the filter unit but both my pump and my filter are wired into a junction box so when I switch the power on they will both come on at the same time.

Is this a problem?

Can I fill the filter by taking the top off and filling the filter bucket with water?

How should I proceed?

What filter are you using that gets plugged in? generaly yes take the top off to fill BUT it may drain backwards if there is no check valve

It's a PFC 3000.

It's no longer able to unplug the filter? The UV light is wired into the lid but you can try filling the lower section with water and then turning on the power but you may damage the filter.

Both the filter and the pump are wired into a junction box with one wire coming out to the plug.

I have an idea. I have another pump I could use to pump the water through the filter and then switch on and quickly change the pipe from one pump to the other, permanent one.
