Hello!
I’m Dawgfish and I’m based in the US. My pond currently has a variety of Comets and one Fantail goldfish. I’m looking to buy koi (Hi Utsuri and Chagoi) in a month or so after my PTO.
Have a picture of my newly adopted fantail, Starburst!

Sorry for the late reply! I’d say 500-750. The previous owners never put the size down and the pond itself is an awkward shape to measure accurately

I’m also underestimating since it is deeper in some sections. Again the previous owner never out the dimensions in so getting the exact gallons is difficult

Hi, @Dawgfish! I'll be the first, but surely not the last, to let you know that your pond is, unfortunately, probably not big enough for koi. Do a search on Google and you'll come up with a wide range of minimum recommended gallons per fish. The absolute minimum is 250 and that would require impeccable filtration. In reality, it's more like 500-1000 gal and you still need very good filtration. I've also seen even higher recommended volumes like 1500-2000 gal per fish. My pond is around 700 gal and I currently have a mixed variety of a dozen goldfish. I have no experience with koi. As I said, I'm sure other, more-experienced koi owners will chime in here.

I have two filters, pumps and waterfalls in a minimum 500-750 gal pond (don’t have an accurate measurement it could be 1000 but we’re severely low balling it for safety reasons)
I have raised koi before and so has my friend so we’ve been really careful measuring out the max amount of kois my pond can support. We’re going off of the measurements of 10 gallons per inch of fish, gauging each koi will be minimum 24 inches (that’s how big my last one got, rip).

Plus we just had some new goldfish fry born so we’re really excited to give them to other new pond people living in my areas as beginner fish next year .

The filters are those really fancy one with the switch that lets you change it from waterfall to cleaning mode. Forgot which model it was (I’ll find out cause my dad will need the name of everything I use after I move)
