got down to the mid-20sF, enough for the hounds to walk on the ice. To prevent aqueduct cracking, I pulled the 9 drain plugs to create a sort of flood. The aqueduct is 100% concrete so don't wish to chance cracking.

the water level drop left the ice sheet on the top (it had thinned somewhat in the afternnooon so it looks thinner)

That's cool (literally) -- the ice sheet is pretty. Poor little burro looks cold, though. Maybe throw a blanket over her back.......

I would image there is a lot of ice on individual ponds here in North America. Big & unusual cold blast hitting hard in the last few days.

Where are the skaters SE...................they should be out making use of that ice...........what you don't have skaters?............you need to get some, you have everything else
