Hi everyone
As some of you know already I’m a newbie so forgive my ignorance, Iv an all in one pump filter in my small 7x4 pond and Iv decided I want to change to a filter that sits outside the pond mainly for easy access . My pond seems pretty settled no big problems so I’m being careful, my question is how do I remove the existing filter/pump and replace it with an out of water filter and put a decent pump only in the pond without upsetting the good bacteria etc that has grown in my pond

Hello and welcome.

Bog filter, bog filter and a bog filter :p

It's natures way of cleaning your water by help of pond plants. Something I should have done as all that's required is the pump to feed the bog, plants and that's it. No cleaning out filters or getting yucky mucky.

Pop a few pics of your setup so we can recommend best bogs.

you mentioned earlier in a different post wanting to expand your pond, if your gonna do that, why not just go for a bog filter?

MrsClem gave real good advice on moving your bacteria colonies.
My advice would be to put a pre-filter on your in pond pump, to keep your intake from clogging up as easily.
The pre-filter I suggest is the Matala EZ-Bio 11 or the 11 Plus.
(Lots of good info on their website)
