I have such a small pond, maybe maximum of 6X6 feet and only 8 or so inches deep. We lost 5 trees this past year (thinking it might be due to our drought-not sure though), so we had a drip system installed for our yard in April. Had them run a couple of spaghetti lines to the pond, so it gets water added to it 3 times a week when the automated system turns on. So far, it has been working great. It keeps the pond just about at its maximum depth, at least deeper most of the time, compared to when I would manually fill it up about once every 5 or 6 days or so.
Also, we are out of town for 2 w weeks. Hopefully, (with no power loss or anything), everything will be fine when we get back next week. Before, I would just shut the pump off or pay someone to go over every other day or so to add water and keep an eye on it.
Sorry, for the ramble, this has nothing to do with your solenoid question.
