Two weeks ago I started my pond, koi's I got from a friend in his large pond, 15 pieces, all is right with them, but I'm interested in a way of eating I mean when, as in the time of year because here in Croatia and everyone has a certain theory about diet , I now feed them every two days, I have two rotating food plus leaves for color and give them every ten days frozen insects (some flies something like that). Thanks a lot in advance

Here in the US everyone also have their own diet theories. I think it's a universal human thing.

Feeding depends on your goals. For the biggest possible fish people feed 8-12 times per day or use a feeder where the fish can get food anytime they like. I read a post here the other day where the Koi were never fed in order to keep them small and the fish lived 5 or 10 years (I forget which). Some people feed different foods at different times to enhance a specific color, or to get fish ready for spawning. It's endless.

In all cases water quality has to still be maintained to keep the fish alive.

There are many things you can feed your koi some very nutritional some not , koi have a specific diet pellet wise tallored to their needs you can however feed them lots of alternate foods but only as an option.
Feeding them Garlic in with the pellets can help repel parasites some alternate foods such as King Tiger Prawns can help with the HI or colour red feeding silkworm pupea brings out the white so much so that I call it brilliant white.
You can feed them food from the kitchen, food from the freezer and natural foods from the garden providing you dont use insecticides
Interestingly koi do not have a stomach just one long intestine with teeth in the throat region that help the koi break down hard pellets etc .
I note that you live in Croatia remember not to feed your koi after 10c because the lower the temperature especially when it gets really low around 2c can cause problems where infact the food will start to rot in the koi's intestine this can cause your koi to die.
In spring time feed gradually a little and often until there is no danger of winter catching us out should temperatures drop again
In the days of yester year the Japanese fed them food scraps from human foods but this is only recomended as a treat
