The Farmers Almanac predicted our weather here on the east coast perfectly. When I checked it in October it said, Colder than normal, Dry Snow and lots of it. The Day time high here will be 17 Tuesday with 10 degrees as our low. This is far from normal for us here in Central Virginia. With wind chills we will be in minus 0 range. My fish are happy inside the barn, My power bill is going to be out of sight.......How is everyone else handling this extreme cold? I know this is normal weather for some of you, but here it is just unheard of.......STAY WARM

Good old Farmer's Almanac! We're to get below freezing tonight, with temps remaining there over the next couple of days. We haven't seen those kid of temps in two decades.

Hoping my fish are ok. I've got an aerator and pond deicer going. Kim

Just saw the weather on the news. Here it has been a pretty average winter then I see the weather forecasted out east! Stay safe and warm and happy warm thoughts for all your fishes! We don't really get "wind chill" out here. Not enough moisture in the air to make "wind chill" make much of a difference so I don't understand it all that well. But some of the temps with wind chill I just saw! 0 in Atanta! 19 in New Orleans! Teens have been our lows for the last few weeks and we are at 4100 feet above sea level!

Yep they were right and I knew they would be! So glad I decided to plow snow by the hour this year and not do any seasonal contracts!

Good for you, dieselplower.
That's not an easy business.

Thanks everyone! It has really been misearble lately with the large amount of snow that just came through, followed by crazy winds and -40* windchill. To top it off I also have a full time job. I am so glad the storm has passed and it will warm up into the 30's in a couple days!

we have been below average on some days and well above on others but looking at it we had more days above than below in the last couple of months ,No snow so far and that is below average and we did not get our first frost here in Axton until December .Now after rain passes we will be in 50's and 60's again and not good for the trees or plants .Only had ice on the pond for 2 days because of the polar vortex .Only by the waterfalls though
