Hi all! So happy to have found a place to ask questions since I can't go to the store right now! I think I have decided on the PONDMASTER 02722 1200 GPH Magnetic-Drive Utility Pump based on a recommendation from neighbors (who's pond is the inspiration for this build) but would love a filter recommendation. The pond will be between 500 and 700 gallons, will house goldfish and have a waterfall. This is all a little overwhelming so thank you!

My first pump was Mag driven Pondmaster pump and it lasted for many years, like around 15. It was a good working pump. The only reason I have now switched to Laguna pumps is cuz of the less power they take to run. I just use a prefilter on my pump. Just pull it up w/a rope and clean and put back in. Not the greatest thing for my 2400 gal pond and too many goldfish but it will do. Might work fine for your smaller pond.

biggest thing is how much power does it use .I got my pumps off country fish girl on ebay with free shipping and they were laguna pumps for a great price .1 was 100 dollars and the other 1 was 149 dollarswith a 4 year warranty .Cheaper than any place I could find them .I also bought a laguna areator
