I can't believe what a great hobby this is. A month and a half ago I installed a very small pond and purchased (5) 4" Koi and (1) 2" goldfish. Each time I would feed them they would see me and hide. A few minutes later they would come up and feed. Today, I was working on the Pump and noticed that the fish weren't afraid of me. I held a food pellet just under the water and within a minute, one of them came up and snatched it out of my hand. I did that several more times and now they fight to get the food.
That's probably normal, but I would never have expected them to do that. It's amazing how much happiness these little suckers can add to your life.

Periodically my Shubunkins will be spooked for sevearl days at a time. I have never seen anything that would have spooked my fish. After a few days they are back to greeting my at feeding time.
