Duckweed clogging my filter? HELP

Hello, I have noticed with our filter the duckweed is clogging our filter, any suggestions, or why this is happening? I have to clear it out every half hour. I had to change the water because the filter was getting so clogged.

Duckweed can get out of hand and clog filters. I only put as much as my fish will eat in the pond so it's doesn't make a huge mess. In my tanks in the house I put a piece of filter foam over my intake to keep it from clogging. I still have to rinse the foam out though or after time it will clog.
