I'm having an explosion! a few weeks ago there were a couple little blue ones buzzing around, I thought they were cute and tried to get a shot but they were too skittish to focus in on them. Well the last week there's been A LOT of them, big one's and the little blue ones.... More food for the fish I suppose.

So our getting lots of dragonflys scientific name Anisoptera
IDoubt very much that they will end up as food peter, if they lay eggs in your pond the dragonfly nymph will make short work of any fish it deams small enough to eat caught by its jaws which are a little like the Aliens jaw in Aliens :-

The little ones are probably damsel flys scientific name of Zygoptera , damselflys like their bigger cousins are capable of catching and eating fish, again their jaws are like the Aliens jaws in Alien :-

hope this helps you ID them if you find any in your pond mate ;)

I have a ton of them this year, too. There's a red one that lands on me quite frequently. Even when breeding a few times. :shame: I really enjoy seeing them patrol the ponds. My fish love them, too. Especially the blue ones.

The little blue ones are neat, and beautiful,
But the big gray ones are a bit scary and definitely not very attractive.

Not really seeing them in the pond, so much as buzzing about, but I'm sure they're in there.
