Downspout for Koi Pond

Is the material used for decorative downspout statues and/or splash guards safe to use as spillway for pond? I'm a tad short on piping for the return water. I'd like to keep the diameter of the piping (2"), which makes the downspout attachments the perfect fit, but concerned they will run off harmful substances.

If you mean those rubber or plastic things you place under your gutter spouts then I think they are just fine for using in a pond.

Considered these. Both made from resin. But the gargoyle and anything similar are all painted so decided not to use those.
