I built this pond about a year ago. When I first added water I put in roughly (30) 1"-2" comets to get the pond up and running. Over the course of the year about 18 survived and are growing nicely. About a month ago I added some larger comets and shubunkins.

When the initial group of small comets was added there were several fish that had black colors to them and maybe 2 that looked solid black. I've been keeping an eye on this one particular fish that looks entirely black and almost dark blue color. He has grown much quicker than all the other commets and he's probably about 5 inches now. The more I look at him it looks like a cichlid but I can't be sure. What do you guys think

It isn’t a goldfish. It could be a cichlid (Central American?) that got thrown into the feeder tank. Hard to tell, could even be a bass, either way you need to separate it or it’ll eat everything. Do not be tempted to throw in into local waters whatever you do.

Uh oh lol. Are my big goldfish also in danger? It seems like everyone has been living in harmony so far

Time to set up an aquarium! Then you'll better be able to identify what it is, what it needs, and if you so choose, find a home for it.

Still trying to ID this fish. He's been growing and has not harmed any other fish. He is not aggressive towards other fish. He does eat pellets much different then koi. He swims to the surface quickly, snatches a pellet and swims back down. One at a time. Probably around 9-10 inches now

Looks like a bluegill or some type of sunfish or hybrid. Looks sort of like a crappie too.
That’s what I’m thinking….bluegill….probably an egg latched it’s self to the leg of a bird and brought it to your pond. This is probably more likely.
