Does this stuff really expire?

I have some TopFin water conditioner that says it expired February 2019. Does it really go bad and can it be harmful to Koi if I use it? Just seems like a waste to toss it. It looks and smells fine. It was stored in a bin in the shade outside through the winter.

When I first started in the hobby I got a used tank that was sitting in someone’s closet for years. I used all the water conditioner it came with and after months of use in a goldfish tank I realized it was like 2 years expired. Granted I never tested my water back then but fancy goldfish are somewhat delicate and I never had issues. If anything it probably just decreases in effectiveness and doesn’t work as well when it expires.

If a fancy can make it I seriously doubt your koi will be harmed, worse case scenario your water isn’t fully dechlorinated.
