We have just moved house and have inherited a pond. The water looks quite murky and if the bottom is disturbed it takes sometime to clear. In recent days the goldfish have disappeared after being very visible for weeks. Is there something we need to do?

The fish might be hiding something may have attempted to snack on a few.
You might want to see how much muck is on the bottom. Get a swimming pool net like leaf net and scoop off the bottom, slowly.
