Hello
As am still a student money is short.....but i want to do best buy my fish currently i have them in a 6ft tank around 150 gallons tank. It is filtered by 4 external filters and a uv...so filtration is good....but now from advice i have decided to go build a 1000 gallon pond. I was wondering would a diy filter be as good as a store bought pond filter. As i have been looking and the designs are all very simple......their isnt anything to unique about a normal box filter?
what your opinions?

Fish
2 butterfly koi roughly 7 inchs
3 goldfish 6 inchs
Nothing special yet not till my pond is complete

There are sticky's on the DIY bio filters here on the forum. Plus I have photos on my website on how mine is built.
I personally would not buy any commerciallya available filter as I don't think they are easier to clean or more effective than the ones you can build.
