How quickly can a comet goldfish lose its color in a shaded outdoor pond?
Thanks Dave,You can try changing it's diet and see what happens. I have read that certain food like shrimp will enhance a goldfish's color. I have had my fish change colors too. I once had a black one change to a real washed out salamender color that I hated and now it is a really gorgous white and orange spotted fish with orange lipstick on it's mouth.I have never really had one that had it's colors faded but I have a bunch that have turned to white. I think I have 7 or 8 white ones right now and I like them as much as the deeper colored ones.To put it quite plainly they dont , if a fish is kept in a pond that is well looked after their colour should get deeper not fade, so either the fading is caused by the wrong water perameters perhaps or the fish is ill in some way or other .
