Color changing RANCHU

Someone gave my a tiny, orange Ranchu not long after I first set up my pond.
It's been about a year, and this guy is now pure white with a gold circle on his head. It used to be a white spot.
Is this normal for such a fish?
I've had color changing Cichlids. But have not seen it in goldfish.

My goldfish start out as black babies and then gradually turn to orange and some turn white too. Happens a lot. I happen to like the white ones.

Sounds exactly like mine was orange and white then orange spot on head now all white and my favorite. Also one of only 10 I could catch seems the rest will be under ice very soon.
