I have read several times about folk using the generic Walmart brand for clay kitty but grrr ... I just want to make sure.

Only generic brand I could find was "Special Kitty" that states, "premium clay cat litter, fresh scent, highly absorbent". It does not say whether it is "clumping" type or "not clumping" type.

What do ya use?

Special Kitty is the right brand but I believe it says somewhere on the bag that it is 100% clay and no additives. I don't think it says anything about clumping. I have a bag out in the shed but it's dark now and will check tomorrow what it says. Maybe those back East will get to you earlier than me in the morning.

I use Special Kitty natural clay litter fragrance free from Walmart. Blue and red bag. You don't want to use litter that has fragrance in it.

The bag I mentioned is a yellow and blue bag.

Grr, yeah, I think the Walmart near me is "The" place to be in my area for a 45 mile radius since all of the Walmart generic brands kitty litter bags were sold.

Heh, the 14lb bag I saw was a busted up bag with holes in it. So, think I am gonna wait till I go to the Walmart in the big city of Amarillo and get the red/blue bag of litter goodness.

Thanks again. :)

What do you use it for in a pond? Is it for clearing up green water... if so is it safe for Koi?

I think it would clog up really fast. Pea gravel lets water flow through it. Some koi keepers put clay in their ponds for the health of their koi.
