I’d like to use cinder blocks in my 35,000 gallon pond but I heard it leaches unless sealed. Can I seal them with vinagre? Or any suggestions? I have about 20 koi and pond is well established.
I don't believe you can use cinder blocks alone they won't hold water. How many blocks, and what do you plan for them? I would think that 35k gallons would dilute any calcium that may leach from a few blocks.
Thank youNot a clue what vinagre is . after building your block walls you can apply fiberglass probably the best option. plaster like a pool. Epdm rubber. Welded pvc, And there's water proofing paints last of my choices.
Thank youAre you using them to sit plants on and boost them up or build the pond out of. If the former I wouldn’t worry about it.
Thank youView attachment 127484@Peggy’s pond
I believe she meant vinegar. I have no clue what that does to blocks.
I've used the red bricks before and also some of the grey concrete ones w/no issues.
if your going to do it do it right go to the depot and get mariachi acid every hardware store has it. wear gloves and glasses.dont let the acid scare you its not going to eat your arm off follow the directions very easyThank you
And yes... I meant Vinegar. i was told that it reacts with surface of block and seals/ neutralizes the surface
