Cement water feature.

I’ve not long set up a small pond in our garden, waters clear fish seem happy. I want to add a water feature to the pond and make it myself out of cement, seen a few different ones on YouTube but I’m unsure if the cement is safe for the fish, does it have to be made and left for a period of time? Or sealed with something?
