I used to overflow my 200g goldfish pond to clear surface debris but my 2000g koi pond this doesn't work at all. I put the hose in and it overflows in one area at the end, but nothing on the surface flows over there. I have a skimmer and another pump I'm putting in so it's not a huge deal, but I'm really confused about why this doesn't work. Is it just simply the volume, my garden hose isn't fast enough pumping to make this work?

pressure washer may do it but you will have to use the low flow nozzle and keep pushing the water on top to the one end .I know it works for my neighbors pool to get the stuff floating on the top .Not sure about a pond .

My skimmer saved me when the seeds fell off the maple, I had those helicopters everywhere. Was cleaning it out a few times a day.
I'm going to have my skimmer free floating inside the pond so I can move it around if I need to, and I probably won't have it running all year round. Run every evening probably and maybe 24/7 at various times when things are falling. I'm going to let the output just shoot across the bottom of the pond to create more of a current, my pump setup is doing a good job, but the water just doesn't seem to actually move, this should make it more obvious.
