Can i use a backwash hose

We just did a DIY waterfall and pond. The stream is about 50 ft long. We are about to install a submersible pump for water return to the fall. I was wondering if we can use a backwash hose in place of a flex pvc hose for the water return?

Never heard of anyone doing that but maybe they have. Will see if anyone responds to help you. Some of those backwash hoses aren't very thick and hardy. Might get holes in them too easy. Maybe they make others that are better tho. I myself use the flexible heavy duty PVC tubing type like this, hardly anything will puncture it. Better than that corrugated brittle stuff:

bACK WASH HOSE IS USUALY LIKE A FLEX LINE FROM A VACUUME I WOULD NOT ADVICE IT AS IF IT DOES SPRING A LEAK AND IT WILL AT SOME POINT IF THE PUMP BURNS OUT SO MUCH FOR SAVINGS
