Hi there. Today, I noticed that I have pests in my ponds attacking my lilies. I have black aphids and also tiny snails but there is something else. Please take a look at the attached photo and let me know what this is and what I can do to get rid of it. Today, I went around all the leaves (exhaustive work!) and squished all the snails and aphids by hand. I was able to carefully scrape off the stuff in the photo, but what is it? Also, is there anything else that I should be doing to keep these pests away?

Never seen eggs like that.
I don't worry about pests on the leaves, they seem to go after the ones that are on their way out.

Don't know what deposited those eggs. They resemble Water Strider eggs only those are laid end-to--end not side-by-side.

You are doing about all that can be done. Unfortunately, a safe and effective pesticide for use around aquatics has yet to be developed.
