Hi all any insight greatly appreciated.

I am trying to decide about a new pond but i am running into a couple of problems.

This will be an elevated pond

This is my plan so fare i want to build a pond 10ft by 15ft outside block 4.5ft deep this will be insulated with king span or similar product and then this will be lined thats the easy part my problem start when it comes to drainage and filtration. I would like to do an external plant filtration system that would run about 2ft behind main pond and waterfall back into pond (any info on how to set a plant filter welcome)
second problem i am no plumber so i have no idea how to drain pond and also how to pump water from pond through the plants, i would like to try and use gravity as much as possible to reduce the electricity usage.

I hope the above makes some sort of sense.

Regards
David

I plumbed mine so the water is drawn out of the pond, pumped through my plant bog which then waterfalls back into the pond. I use a ton of plants to filter the water, keeps my pond basically algae and green water clean. With what you are saying you will need to draw water via a pump up and into a plant filter.

This might help with your plumbing / plant filter / or bog type filter

I did not plumb in a bottom drain, just net the pond bottom off and on to keep the bottom clean, about twice a year, spring and fall.
