Hello! I recently set up a 350g pond for my turtles. When i was cleaning out the filter i found these weird...tubular things? They look like eggs? I see little hairs or legs come out the bottom and maybe a body incased in it?? Theres multiples of these things and only inside the filter. I found a few empty looking shells on the outside of it. I can't find them anywhere else in the pond either..

Please help me identify! I hope these aren't harmful..

Thank you!

Not sure what that is....one way to find out if it is a bug egg....squish it. Either way unlikely it is harmful, there are a plethora of aquatic insects and insects that have an aquatic larval stage, that are benign.

I'm able to squish the insides? But the shell like thing stay intact. I even found some already empty. Good to know they aren't harmful!
